Prepare Baby for Walking

One to walk, Two to talk it's a wonderful saying that clearly depicts that a one year old baby is ready to learn to walk.

One concern many parents have is teaching their baby to walk. Parents often ask about ways to help their baby walk. Many parents know that crawling is one of the major milestones infants must master. It's a key period when your baby becomes stronger and starts walking. Babies don’t just wake up one day and start walking. Walking is a natural skill most babies automatically master. But many times it just doesn't happen for really good reasons.

Teaching your baby to walk easily depends on her mastering those first steps. It’s important to make sure that your home is a safe environment when baby start walking. Watch in your home to prevent your child from getting hurt on sharp corners and stairs while your teaching your baby to walk. You will be tempted to buy a walker to teach your kid how to start walking. However, when you’re teaching your baby to walk it’s important not to use a walker. Walkers can be dangerous and can cause accidents and injuries.

When you are trying to teach your baby to walk, you will tempted to also buy a good pair of shoes but I suggest that babies actually learn to walk better when they’re not wearing shoes. Remember shoes don't make it easy for baby to walk.

You could buy some toys which lets baby pull and push and manage coordination and balance. Let your kid play and this will improve baby's hand eye coordination. Don't get depressed as it's a slow process and soon your baby will be walking. Just want to add one important note, put on the carpet.

I like your advise. However unless there are prior developmental problems, don't get too technical, let it happen naturally.

Sharon, thanks for your comment and your a absolutely right about that. This is a developmental milestone that should happen naturally. I think this article is just giving some basics about letting that happen.
