101 Ways To Encourage Kids

This is not exactly speech/language therapy related, but I love this list and thought it was worth sharing.
The following list of encouraging words and phrases has helped many of us when we were looking for the "the right thing to say" to our child at the right time. The author is unknown but I got it from a preschool teacher I know - Debbie Caruso. Enjoy reading and watch your child's face light up when he/she hears these words!

Thank you so much for these great suggestions.
These were very helpful.
Hi! Thanks for sharing this. I remember when my kids were younger, my mom used to tell me that instead of telling my kids "That's bad, don't do that", it is better to tell them "That is not good" and explain to them why. In that case, the kids won't think they are bad or they've been bad.
God Bless.

Hi and thanks for this list. It's so easy to say these things to your children, but it's also so easy to forget. A few encouraging words goes a long way.

You forgot, "Oh well, I can just paint over that patch. & I suppose I didn't really need that coffee table." Which are also classics. LOL. Seriously, great list. Kids and self esteem go hand in hand.
Good idea. We plane on using at lees three different comment a day with are son. He response great to positive comment just like a kids. Plus the more different comments we give him will help expand his vocabulary.
